About This Photograph

The 10th hole of the Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tenn. The Honors Course was created by the late John T. Lupton as a club to honor the game of amateur golf. Many championships have been conducted on the Pete Dye-designed course, including the U.S. Amateur, U.S. Mid-Amateur, Curtis Cup Match and the NCAA Championships. Located just north of Chattanooga, the club is nestled at the foot of the White Oak Mountains in an area once traveled by Spanish explorer Hernando DeSoto.
