About This Photograph

Lee Trevino carded four rounds in the 60s and shot a 72-hole record score of 275 to defeat defending champion Jack Nicklaus by four strokes and win the 1968 U.S. Open at Oak Hill Country Club. He became the first player in U.S. Open history to play all four regulation rounds under par and in the 60s. With this victory, the 28-year old Mexican-American not only earned his first Major title, but also his first PGA Tour win.
